When you’re visiting Bristol and surrounding areas, you’ll find that there’s no shortage of things to do. If, on the other hand, you’re looking for some alternatives to museum visits, nights at the pub or shopping, you’re in luck. The vibrant city has much more to offer than the usual activities and you may well discover some new hobbies.
Underground Music and Bars
If you’re looking for somewhere slightly different to grab a pint or enjoy some great music, there are some fantastic places tucked away in Bristols underground.
- Cosies Basement Bar – this unique basement bar spends the day masked as a cafe, serving coffee and food. When the night comes, however, it transforms into Bristols premier underground music venue.
- The Beer Emporium – the bottle shop upstairs boasts a selection of craft beer from around the world. Step down into the cellar bar and enjoy 24 taps of locally produced real ale and kegged craft beer, as well as global offerings.
- Bag of Nails – for cat lovers, this is the pub to head for. With 15 cats roaming around the bar, this ale house is a popular stop off.
Try your luck
There are three casinos in Bristol, and for an alternative night out you’re sure to have a good time. Genting and Grosvenor Casinos are both respected, chain owned establishments, while Casino Slots focuses more on slot machine rather than table games. Both of the chain casinos offer a number of table games, from classics such as blackjack or roulette , to the more modern mah jong. Poker tournaments are regularly held, or you can enjoy a number of slot machines. Both contain a late night bar and restaurant.
Step through the wardrobe
